A liquid crystal display (LCD) is a thin, flat electronic visual display that uses the light modulating properties of liquid crystals (LCs). LCs do not emit light directly. They are used in a wide range of applications, including computer monitors, television, instrument panels, aircraft cockpit displays, signage, etc. They are common in consumer devices such as video […]
Character based LCD’s are great for presenting the user with textual information. However there are times you need a bit more freedom when presenting data. In this application note I will present a interface between the PIC micro-controller and 128×64 graphic LCD. Most displays controlled by KS0107/KS0108 Note that the Graphical LCD’s listed have negative […]
Access Control is a system which enables an authority to control access to areas and resources in a given physical facility or computer-based information system. Access control in reality an everyday phenomenon. A look on a car door is essentially a form of access control. A pin on an ATM system at a bank is another means of […]
This is an example on a digital clock implemented using PIC micro-controller. I used 4-Digits led display instead of individual 7-segments to display the clock. This made the implementation easier, and made the circuit smaller.
